About Katelyn Van Sickel

Katelyn Van Sickel joined CJMH in 2019 after beginning her career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Katelyn’s experience as an accountant helped her develop a mastery of numbers, which has been invaluable to her diverse client base that includes business owners, privately held companies, and startups.

In her time with CJMH, Katelyn has assisted with several corporate reorganizations and restructurings, assisted in representing clients under audit by the IRS and before the Texas Comptroller, and represented clients in contract preparation and negotiations as an outside general counsel. She has also assisted clients in buying and selling businesses across a broad range of industries, often as the lead attorney on the deal.

Clients appreciate Katelyn’s respectful and attentive nature – especially her prompt communication and professionalism. Her experience as an accountant helps her to translate numbers and legal jargon to provide business savvy and practical approaches to client matters. Katelyn’s integrity, consistency, and attention to detail remain at the forefront of her practice.

Katelyn received her BSBA in Accounting from the University of Colorado, and then her Juris Doctor in 2018 from the University of Houston Law Center. Katelyn is active with the Christian Legal Society.

When Katelyn isn’t providing legal services, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering with her church, and spending time outside hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing.
